Sunday afternoon Holly and I went into Manchester for the afternoon. We spent the day browsing at vintage shops, Holly getting an impromptu piercing and then lastly, a late lunch at Sugar Junction.

Totally up my alley, it was sort of shabby chic shop with mismatched dishes and menus in books. Holly had a veggie panini and I had a salad and their pea & mint soup (served in a teacup!) and it was completely delicious.

We were a little too full afterwards for tea and cake, but I'll definitely be back there for some another time!

Tiff Takes London

Look! Tiff is here! My friend from good ol' Canada is traveling Europe for the summer and has popped into London for a week visit.

Started her trip off with a bang - Katy Perry at the O2. I bought tickets in November hoping I'd have someone to go with come May and it couldn't have worked out better! It was so exciting. I love Katy Perry. Even more after she flew through the audience attached to balloons and entered one set on a giant gold and pink horse.

Started our Saturday at Brockley Market with amazing bacon avocado sandwiches served to us by some extremely handsome bearded men (at a stall which for the life of me I cannot remember the name of).

And then cake, of course.

Took a stroll up the mall after a stop in Trafalgar Square to head towards Buckhingham Palace. Tiff has never been to London so we're really hitting up all the tourist hot spots, which, I have to say, is so much fun and lately I've been forgetting to be a tourist here. Remedying that starting immediately!
Don't I look so tall in that picture?

Felt a bit warm and tired from all the walking so refueled in Green Park with some ciders and strawberries we bought at Brockley Market that morning.

Saturday night Rory came bearing pineapple and pink bubbly.

Sunday took us to Brick Lane once we woke up - quite late, I may add. (I may have lied earlier. There were four bottles Saturday night).

Luckily we cured ourselves with falafel (me) and fish and chips (Tiff's first in London!). Add in some fresh juices and we were ready for Sunday.

Strolled down Columbia Road flower market since we were in the area, laughing at all the sellers shouting "ONE FER THREE PAUND, TWO FER FIVE! TWO FER FIIIIIIVE".

Then Tiff had an important phone call to make before we headed home, a bit exhausted from weekending.

Another Sunday

Since I am currently holed up in bed with several maladies (burnt shoulders + inception blisters + heat rash COOL), I figured I may as well put up a few of the pictures from today that resulted in all of those injuries.

Little kitty milling about my feet while we made breakfast.

Rory handled the frying, I handled the taking pictures of cats at my feet and flowers in the back garden.

Bacon, eggs, oranges, banana bread and juice = ideal Sunday breakfast.

Rory's genius idea of bringing a giant water bottle with us probably saved me from heat stroke (I am never overly dramatic or over-exaggerate anything, by the way).

 photo IMG_1147.jpg

Obviously had to get some ice cream.

Found a little hole in the wall vintage shop that was half indoors and half outdoors, I bought that little yellow cigarette tin on the top of the pile.

Also vintage tin heaven.

Somehow always see the coolest cars when I'm with Rory. I think I go well with this baller purple camper van.

 photo 8F965306-6584-4F9A-88AD-23347CE0C61C.jpg

Then we saw a tree that looks like a giant pineapple. What is this monstrosity and where can I get one?

We walked approximately three thousand miles up a hill to Horniman Museum & Gardens, which was absolutely stunning. I took off my awful sandals immediately and Rory cracked us open a few Stella to sip while we lay in the sun.

Hey, London!

And I'll leave you with a fine picture of these llama/alpaca's bums.
